Brothers and Sisters

Since Episode #1, I have been a FAITHFUL follower of the ABC show Brothers and Sisters. I live for Sunday night's show, and must admit, life just isn't the same when I know B&S's will be a repeat.

Yes, last night was a new episode, but when the show ended, instead of eagerly awaiting next week's episode already, I found myself in total disappointment.

SHAME ON YOU KITTY WALKER. Shame on you for being a cheater. You have sunk to a new low - and I do not like it. It appears as though your shameful behavior will continue into next week, and that makes me sad also. See you Sunday night. I hope you spend this week with a gut pinching feeling for what you have done. ** A side note, I do completely understand that Robert is not being a top-notch husband... but it is moments like these that can define couples. It should be through tough times that you grow stronger as a couple.

A Shameless Plug

Recently, my sweet hubby started a great blog. He is smart, opinionated and passionate about economics, sports, and me of course ;). Go visit the crazy inner-workings of Cullen Mills' mind. Leave him a comment - his favorite conversations are those that challenge him.

Hand Prints make a difference

As I ran on the treadmill this weekend, I flipped through my People Magazine. This week's magazine had an advertisement for the Hand Print Project. It is a project benefitting Diabetes Research.
I know more people in my life who are affected by cancer than Diabetes... So, let's flip it. I want to know, if you had ONE WORD to express your feelings about cancer, what would your "WORD" be? By writing a word on your hand expressing your feelings about cancer, and sharing the story behind it, you’ll become part of a global community that puts a human face on cancer for all the world to see.
As most know, I can not do anything in ONE WORD... so, I created my own word. My word is:
JUSTBREATHE
Comment below. What is YOUR word??

I love Aprons!

I was born in the wrong era. I know I was supposed to be living the era where June Cleaver and I could be best friends. I know that I was meant to wear aprons, pearls and stiletto's all the time. Recently, I have been co-planning a shower for my dear friend Terra. All of the hostesses are wearing aprons. (I KNOW - HOW CUTE!) I found my dream website for apron purchasing. They are ADORABLE and inexpensive. Go check them out - and buy an apron. It'll change your kitchen and cleaning experience.

Check out their website: www.boojiboo.com

Happy Birthday Hayden

It appears as though I do not have a life outside of my niece, nephew and dogs. This post furthers that theory.

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY

There's No Crying In Baseball!

This weekend, Cullen and I joined my family at the first baseball game of Brittany and Hayden's 2009 series...or life. Brittany is old enough for co-ed coach pitch. She took the mound, and started the game as the pitcher and ended the game in the outfield, playing center field. She was great. She hit the ball, ran hard, made it home all without her hat on, "because I'm not really feeling like wearing a hat today." So, like a good aunt, I put it on my head, and sat back in the stands.
After the game, she got her team snacks (which Hayden and Brittany both say is the best part of the game!) and we wisked off to Hayden's game!

Tee-ball could lightly be described as Chaos. As the innings dragged on, more parents joined the field to direct traffic (from home to first, first to second, second to third..."no, no, this way. Don't chase the ball, go home! Run Home!!" from third back home). It was hysterical. Every child, (including the one who hit the ball) would chase after every ball, and divebomb into a pile. It was amazing we didn't see any blackeyes. Hayden sat patiently on the bench and waited for his turn to hit the ball... oh how cute is he:
And when he was in the field.... if someone else got to the ball before him, tears ensued. Not to worry, this wasn't just Hayden. This was every child. Oh, but it was so cute.

This does OFFICIALLY mark spring. Easter is this weekend. Baseball is in the air. Spring is here.

Millie is Silly.

If you have ever met our dogs, you know that on Brodie's best day, his aptitude rivals a goldfish. His overall demeanor is laid back and simple, much like Garfield - the animated cat. He will do anything for a snack... (this is the face he makes if you ask him "Brodie, you want a snack???")
The poor dog would walk right into a bear cave if it meant making you happy, and that he would get a treat for doing so. However, he is loyal as the day is long. Nothing makes him happier than cozying up to his momma and dad and falling asleep in our laps.
Generally speaking, Millie is the polar opposite. She is wildly energetic. She has a mind of her own. She listens, she obeys always - she is everything you want in a dog. At night, she does not cuddle in our laps. Millie prefers to sit near us for a few minutes, and on her time, she will put herself to bed.

Sometimes, I get this overwhelming urge to holding one of my puppies. Since Brodie is usually already passed out on Cullen, I am out of luck (as I know Millie will have NOTHING to do with me if she is already comfortable). At the mere thought of me grabbing her, interrupting her precious 15 hours of beauty sleep, she is on the lamb...running as far away from human contact as possible. Not last night, my friends... we had a breakthrough.
Last night, I don't know of someone slipped her some of the funny juice or what...but our usual "keep-to-herself...don't-mess-with-me-while-sleeping" Millie turned to putty in my lap. I went to pick her up from next to me on the couch. I put her in my lap...and...
Nothing... nothing happened. She stayed, just as I put her. Then...
She stretched. Not too far though, just enough to scratch her eyes. And, since scratcing her eyes while on the juice, maded her worn out, she stayed, wompy, on my lap.
Eventually, she slumped into an even deeper sleep, causing her to end like this:

And that is the story of my little girl. For the first time in her life, her aptitude rivaled her brothers. Oh, Millie, you have come so far to drop so low. Snap back - and lay of the juice.
